Dogs
I am house sitting for my brother and sister-in-law this week because they are at the beach. They have a dog, bonnie, a golden retriever. She is a great dog, doesnt bark or do a whole lot of disgusting dog type stuff either. She LOVES people food though, so everytime I am making anything she stands right beside me. I will say to her, "carpet, Bonnie" which means to go sit on the carpet for 3 seconds and then come back to my side, like a magnet.
Last night I am getting ready for bed and I notice that Bonnie is licking her paw like crazy, going to town biting it. I sat down on the floor and looked at her nasty wet paw, to see if I could find anything wrong with it. Nope. So I finished getting ready for bed. About a half hour later I was in bed and she was still licking her paw. Is this a normal thing for dogs? Dont know, never had one.
I start to worry, like do i need to take her to the vet in the morning, or now? I wasnt sure what to do, and since it was 11:30 at night, i didnt want to call my bro. I went on the internet to look up everything dog. Didnt really find anything helpful, except a page on home remedies, which suggests putting a sock over an inflammed paw. I think, ok maybe that is what is wrong?! So I found one of my bros socks and put it on her paw. As you can imagine... that didnt work. She just bit at the sock. I walked around the living room with her and get her excited so she will jump up and down, and she did not favoring her paw at all. So, not knowing what to do, I went to bed.
I got up this morning and her paw was dry. So I guess she stopped licking it. Is paw licking normal?
